U.S. Military personnel from U.S. Indo-Pacific Command meet with first responders at the Search and Rescue Operations Center near the collapsed State Audit Office building in Bangkok, which fell after a 7.7 earthquake affected Thailand and its neighbor countries on March 28, 2025.

Disaster emergencies, both natural and man-made, remain an ever-present threat to life, security, stability and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific. The United States providing humanitarian assistance to our Thai allies saves lives, alleviates suffering during crises and fosters stability across the region.

U.S. Indo-Pacific Command service members recently joined forces with Thai authorities in a collaborative search and rescue operation aimed at providing critical support to those in need. This joint effort underscores the strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Thailand, emphasizing a shared commitment to regional stability and humanitarian assistance.

The operation, which took place in a challenging terrain, involved advanced technology and expertise brought by the U.S. service members. Thai officials expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting the importance of international cooperation during emergencies. Both parties worked seamlessly to ensure the safety and well-being of affected individuals, showcasing the strength of their partnership and dedication to the Indo-Pacific region.

This collaborative mission serves as a testament to the enduring alliance between the United States and Thailand, promoting mutual trust and enhancing capabilities to address complex challenges together. Such efforts highlight the crucial role of partnership and preparedness in responding to crises effectively.
