Biden calls on nation to ‘cool down’ after Trump shooting

U.S. President Joe Biden called on the nation to lower the political temperature in an Oval Office speech Sunday evening, following an attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

“My fellow Americans,” the president began his six-minute address, from the Resolute Desk, later continuing, “though we may disagree, we are not enemies. We are neighbors, friends, coworkers, citizens. And most importantly, we are fellow Americans.
