China’s Xi urges unity against protectionism with Malaysia’s Anwar
Beijing calls for safeguarding common interests in wake of Trump’s election.

Chinese President Xi Jinping told Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday that their two countries should work together to oppose protectionism.

China and Malaysia also must “safeguard the common interests” of developing nations, Xi said during their meeting in Beijing, China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
