Donald Trump has restored his “maximum pressure” policy against Iran and Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has ruled out negotiations with the U.S., highlighting an escalating confrontation between the two foes ahead of October’s expiration of the Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
