Japan added 10 new members to its task force for tariff negotiations with the U.S. on Monday, drawing people from the transport, agricultural and other ministries to weigh potential bargaining chips and facilitate quick decision-making across agency lines.

The staffers joined the Cabinet Secretariat’s Office for the Comprehensive Response Headquarters for U.S. Tariff Measures full-time. The body, led by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Fumitoshi Sato, has 37 other members who also are juggling responsibilities at their respective agencies.
