The U.S. State Department has dropped the phrase “People’s Republic of China (PRC)” as a description of mainland China in a country fact sheet on its website. The fact sheet now simply calls the country “China.”
Together with the removal of a sentence regarding Taiwan independence from the department’s Taiwan fact sheet, the revised wording hints at the new Trump administration’s points of interest.
