The Chilean Navy Tall Ship is commanded by Capt. Andres Gallegos, who greeted Paparo during his visit. Chile has actively participated in several key exercises and initiatives under the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, such as the Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC), underscoring its commitment to regional security and interoperability.

USINDOPACOM is committed to enhancing stability in the Indo-Pacific region by promoting security cooperation, encouraging peaceful development, responding to contingencies, deterring aggression and, when necessary, prevailing in conflict.
